The Manchester Arena bomber plotter who orchestrated the devastating atrocity which left 22 dead and hundreds more injured has been handed 24 life sentences today.
Hashem Abedi hatched an plan with his older brother Salman to detonate a homemade bomb at the concert hall, targeting children and causing death and destruction as crowds left an Ariana Grande concert.
Salman Abedi was the one who carried out the suicide bomb attack, on May 22, 2017, but his brother was proved to be instrumental in the terror plot.
At the Old Bailey today, Mr Justice Jeremy Baker sentenced Abedi to life in prison with a minimum term of 55 years behind bars.
