UAE visa amnesty guidelines explained and service center locations

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai confirmed that they are all set to accept applicants for the UAE Visa Amnesty 2024 that will start today first Sunday September, until Wednesday 30th October 2024 unless the authorities decide to extend for a reason.
UAE Visa amnesty scheme promotes “respect for the law, tolerance, compassion and social cohesion”.
How long is amnesty 2024 programme?
The amnesty programme will be 2 months long starting today Sunday first September until Wednesday 30th October, 2024.
Who can apply for amnesty 2024?
A. People with expired tourist or visit visas
B. People with expired UAE residency visa
C. Family members of sponsor with expired visa
D. Those who ran away or absconded from their sponsors
E. Those with children born in the UAE and not registered within four months from the date of birth
Who can’t apply for amnesty 2024?
1. Those who entered the country illegally can not apply for the amnesty 2024, however they can surrender to authorities and UAE laws will be applied to them accordingly.
2. Residency and visit visas that will expire after first September 2024, will not be allowed to apply for amnesty.
3. People with deportation cases in the UAE or any GCC country can not also benefit for amnesty 2024.
4. People who will get an absconding cases after first September 2024 will also not be allowed to apply for amnesty
Where can I apply for the amnesty 2024?
Many center across the united Arab emirates to handle all services for those wishing to stay in the country and issue departure permits for those who are leaving the country.

Service centres will have extended hours from 7am to 10pm, where biometric fingerprinting will be recorded.
Amnesty applications can also be made at ICP centres throughout the rest of the UAE, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khayimah, Fujeirah and Ummu Al Qu’wan
Service applications are also available online 24/7. Applicants can submit through ICP electronic and smart channels and approved typing centres without the need to visit service centres, except when asked to appear for biometric fingerprinting.
What services will be provided by ICP during the amnesty programme?
The ICP will be in charge of:
• Issuing departure permits
• Renewing residence visa
• Issuing residence visa for a newly born foreigners in the country
• Issuing new visa for work or residence
• Adjusting status on a valid visa
• Issuing residence permits for work and residence visa violators
What are the services by the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation (Mohre)?
• Issuing work permits
• Renewing work permits
• Cancelling work permits
• Registering work stoppage complaints
If there are restrictions on a company, the ICP will proceed with updating the status of people who overstayed. In case the residency violators have challenges in updating their status with their employers, Mohre will coordinate with the aim of facilitating the necessary changes of their status.
Will UAE put a re-entry ban for people exit through amnesty ?
any person who has been in overstay and is allowed to leave the United Arab Emirates during this amnesty 2024, there will be no ban stamps on the passport and they can return any time with the right visa without any restrictions.
Will the applicant have to pay fees or penalties?
There will be no penalty for cancelling residency and tourist visa. There will also be no exit pass or departure fees for those who want to leave the UAE legally. There is also no fine for those who want to modify their residency status.
There is no administrative fine resulting from staying in the country illegally. There are also no fines related to expired UAE national ID or fines related to not providing a work contract or renewal of work contract.
The Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) said there would be no overstay fine nor exit fee to be collected.
What about people with lost your passport?
In Abu Dhabi, submit an application through the ICP smart system to obtain a travel document. Other emirates may require submission of an affidavit of loss to the general police command of the corresponding emirate before a travel document is issued. The travel document issued by embassies and consulates can also be used by those who want to leave the country, as long as all information matches the information in visa details.
