Nairobi Metropolitan Development Minister Jamleck Kamau is yet another cabinet minister who could be in the dock soon, to face hate speech charges. Director of Public Prosecutions, Keriako Tobiko approved his prosecution, and that of Limuru Member of Parliament Peter Mwathi, for utterances they allegedly made, that constitute hate speech, during a prayer rally in Meru, in January this year. However Kamau denied the hate speech claims made against him, and insisted he was in the dark over his impending prosecution. The DPP however, rejected charges against Makadara MP Gideon Mbuvi saying the evidence provided does not implicate him.
