The actions required to remove the upholstery complete the procedure.
Release the latch of the bench seat and tilt it forwards slightly.
Remove the bench seat with the help of an assistant.
Put the bench seat down in a suitable place.
Ensure that you have enough space to work in.
Pull out the head restraints.
Remove the guides by pressing the catches inwards using a suitable tool.
Be careful not to damage them.
Remove the remaining head restraints in the same way.
Detach the backrest trim from the seat frame.
Take out all screws.
On this 3-passenger bench seat there are 10 screws in total.
Pull off the trim to the rear.
You now have space to detach the belt end fitting.
Remove the bolts at the two positions highlighted.
Detach the belt end fitting with bearing washers and shims.
Do not forget the bolt on the left-hand side!
When you screw the bolt back in later, make sure that the shim contacts the belt end fitting.
Tighten the bolt to 37 Nm.
Remove the seat belt buckle on the right-hand side of the seat.
Remove the protective cap and remove the bolt.
Detach the seat belt buckle with shim from the seat frame.
When reinstalling, tighten the bolt on the seat belt buckle to 37 Nm.
Remove the armrests on the right and left.
To do so, unscrew the nuts on the inside.
Detach each armrest with the associated shim.
Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm when reinstalling.
Remove the plastic pin to remove the seat belt guide.
Lift the guide frame of the seat belt guide over the latch plate and pull the belt all the way out.
Repeat the procedure on the other two belts.
Detach the backrest upholstery from the frame.
Detach the tensioning rails for the seat cushion cover.
Unhook the retaining rails for the backrest upholstery underneath.
Carefully pull the backrest upholstery upwards.
Unhook the covering of the seat bolster at the rear.
Detach the retaining frame for the covers from the seat frame.
The seat bolster can now be removed.
