This is the unique way rural communities in Romania harness the power of running water to wash clothes. They use a very simple technique, called vor, without using any detergent at all. Instead, they divert the flow of river water into a large wooden basin. The rushing water makes the laundry swirl around and naturally rubs the clothes against the walls of the basin. Interestingly, this process follows the intensity of the water flow; the stronger the flow, the cleaner the laundry. This method is not only effective, but also environmentally friendly.
