In April of 2023, the ED submitted an Application to the Calcutta high court, informing the court that there was evidence of wrong doing in recruitment of municipality officers. So the single judge bench of the Calcutta High Court allowed a probe by CBI in the matter. the WB government has filed a plea to investigate the matter through its machinery, and has filed an appeal in the supreme court against the order of the Calcutta high court directing the probe.
