***Filmed in 2021- Some of the requirements to drive in Europe may have changed, check before you travel***
If Covid is putting you off flying out to the mountains this season then winter 20/21 might be the year to think about driving out. Driving to the mountains is quicker and easier than you think, and not only is it easy, it could also save you a whole load of cash. Having the freedom of your own car out in the mountains also gives you a whole lot more choice. It's easy to drive to other resorts in the area as well as giving you options and flexibility. If you've ever caught that early bus to the airport on a bluebird morning after a night of heavy snow, you'll know exactly what we mean. Now If you've never thought about driving out, we've put together this video to show you just how simple it really is. We'll run through what you need to drive in Europe, how to save money on crossings and then we'll run you through the main routes to get to the key ski and snowboard areas of France and Austria. If you prefer to ride in Switzerland or Italy, you can still follow these routes as they will take you through most of the journey to those regions. Now we won't beat about the bush, this video is quite long, so if you're after killing a bit of time watching a snowboard video then this isn't for you. However, if you're planning your trip and want to see the easiest routes to the alps with tips on avoiding congestion, places to stay and things to do en route, then hopefully this video will help.
