Takanori Nagase is a Japanese judoka, who competes in -81 kg weight category. He is 2015 World Champion, 2020 Olympic champion and 6-time national champion. He is the first Japanese judoka to win World championships in -81 kg weight category. His main throws are O Soto Gari, Ashi Guruma, Uchi Mata and O Uchi Gari. Despite his top level achievements and excellent technical Judo skills, he doesn't get as much attention as other more athletic judokas in his country or his weight category. Therefore, I feel he is quite underrated.
