On November 11, 2024, the Ambassador of Indonesia, along with fellow ASEAN Ambassadors to Laos, attended the ASEAN Consultative Meeting (ACM) held at the Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel in Vientiane. This meeting was hosted by the Embassy of the Royal Kingdom of Cambodia as the ACM Chair.
The gathering featured an insightful briefing by H.E Mr. Thongphane SAVANPHET, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR/Lao PDR’s ASEAN SOM Leader, who shared recent developments in Laos’ political, social, and economic landscape, along with the outcomes of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit held in 8-11 October 2024.
A key highlight of the meeting was the ceremonial handover of the ACM Chairmanship from Cambodia to Indonesia.
Ambassador Grata expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the Government of Laos on its success ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024 and extended sincere gratitude for the gracious hospitality extended to the Indonesian delegation throughout the year.
As we assume the ACM Chairmanship, we are committed to strengthening collaboration among ASEAN Member States' embassies in Laos and further deepening our partnership with the Government of Laos.
