Early extension is one of the common faults in golf. When golfers early extend, the extension happens too early before impact, the pelvis thrusts forward and everything straightens pre impact. Here is a simple drill to employ within your practice, start the golf swing in early extension with your heels up at the start of the swing. With the weight being positioned towards your toes, gravity will naturally push you back on your heels as your start the downswing, your ability to rotate will improve and the overall width of the swing will become greater. To avoid early extension start in an early extension position and allow your weight to move towards your heels during transition, to create that squatting action and more rotation.
