What prompted TIOL to go for a National Award was the realisation that unless India’s tax to GDP ratio soars to a decent level, our all-round development cannot be a fast-paced one! And unless tax-base grows, tax burden on existing taxpayers would not nudge down! And the toxic ring of bumps can be breached only by motivating common taxpayers who are certainly more responsible than being perceived but remain incognito and u acknowledged! This is where TIOL Award comes into play as a socio-fiscal driver!
