Thomas Martin, MD, UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, San Francisco, CA, discusses the results of a subgroup analysis of IKEMA (NCT03275285), a Phase III study demonstrating the benefit of adding isatuximab (Isa) plus carfilzomib plus dexamethasone (Kd) versus carfilzomib and dexamethasone alone in patients with relapsed multiple myeloma. The addition of isatuximab to carfilzomib and dexamethasone improved progression-free survival and disease response, and had a manageable safety profile in patients with prior transplant, consistent with the benefit observed in the overall IKEMA study population.
