The beginning of the end for X-Men '97 season 1 starts in a new clip for episode 8 with the Summers family in a Marvel showdown. As X-Men: The Animated Series made its return in 2024 in the form of the X-Men '97 show, the iconic Marvel animated adventure has had its world turned upside down. Following the attack on Genosha, the war against the true villain is getting ready to take place in the final episodes of the season.

Ahead of tomorrow's release of X-Men '97, episode 8 on Disney+, Screen Rant is proud to present an exclusive clip from the first part of the three-part season 1 finale. Titled "Tolerance is Extinction," the clip showcases Cable joining forces with his parents, Jean Grey and Cyclops, as they take on an army of Prime Sentinels. Check it out below:

As X-Men '97 episode 7 confirmed that Bastion is the foe responsible for the mutant genocide, the final three episodes will finally get to the bottom of the supervillain. X-Men '97 episode 8 will more than likely set the foundation for the heroes to discover who their new actual threat is, and how to go about facing him. However, with three parts, it may not be until X-Men '97 episode 9 that they will all finally come face-to-face.

The newly-introduced "OZT" organization is bound to take a bigger spotlight, and how they will factor into the final installments of the season remains an intriguing question. The bigger question, however, is whether or not X-Men '97 episode 8 will conclude in any way with Professor X revealing to his former students that he is actually alive. Another crucial element for X-Men '97 episode 8 to explore is what is going on with Magneto, as he was revealed to also have survived what seemed to be a fatal experience.

Given how X-Men '97 season 2 is already confirmed, it will certainly be intriguing to witness how these final episodes will lay the groundwork for the show's return, whether that is later this year or in 2025. But with how the stakes have been consistently raised over the show, something game-changing is likely bound to go down at the end of the season.
