This blocked ear wax removal extraction procedure is performed by UK pioneer and world-leading endoscopic ear wax removal specialist Mr Neel Raithatha (Consultant Audiologist) aka 'The Wax Whisperer’ at his clinic in Oadby, Leicester, UK.
Ear wax removal is necessary when ear wax build up becomes impacted. Symptoms causes by earwax blockage include: earache (otalgia), conductive hearing loss, blocked ear, vertigo, tinnitus, itchiness and irritation, occlusion etc.
The client attended with bilateral occluding ear wax. Given she was under the age of 18, she was denied treatment by both the NHS and other private practitioners. Instead, she was placed on a 3 month waiting list to be referred to ENT at the hospital to have her ear wax removed.
She had a ‘honey’ ear wax consistency. I managed to remove the excess ear wax using suction before it began to clog and blocked by suction probe. Subsequently, I used a Jobson Horne to delicately remove the gloopy honey type of ear wax of out her ear. Interestingly, there wasn’t a huge amount of ear wax present, but the small amount of ear wax she did had was occluding her ear canal, creating a complete air and sound seal.
