I finally decided to apply for the American Express Platinum Card for Schwab (Amex Schwab Platinum Card). Turns out, I was instantly approved! Woohoo!

The American Express American Express Platinum Card for Schwab is exactly like the American Express Platinum Card in all ways except one (okay fine, two technically).

1) The American Express Platinum Card for Schwab allows you to cash out your Membership Reward points at a 1:1.25 ratio, meaning that 100 points gets you $1.25. If you have well over a million points like I do, this adds up to some pretty significant money, over 5 figures cashed out just from credit card points!

2) You also get a money bonus of $100 or $200 if you have well over 6 figures in a Schwab brokerage account. I do not store my money at Schwab, so I am not eligible for this, and most of you guys probably won't be either. But I guess maybe ya'll just stacked af and you store money like a squirrel stores acorns. That is, all over the place.

In terms of how the American Express Platinum Card for Schwab looked and felt? It was awesome! The packaging was super high class, with a velvet base where the card sat and a lot of helpful pamphlets. The card itself was quite heavy and made out of metal, unlike your typical plastic cards.

The benefits that both the American Express Platinum Card for Schwab and the normal American Express Platinum Card have are:

1) $200 annual airline credit
2) $200 annual uber credit
3) Access to the coveted Centurion airport lounges
4) Access to the Platinum Concierge
5) $100 TSA precheck credit for you and up to 3 authorized users
6) Global domination and the instant respect of anyone wherever you go

Okay just kidding about that last one.

Okay also kidding about that. Well not about the fee. More about the fee being a benefit. It's definitely not a benefit. Pretty trash in my opinion. But it's still worth it to be able to cash out my Amex points!
