Parents and primary caregivers are a child's first teacher. It's never too early to begin to prepare a child to be ready to read. There are five simple, easy practices that can easily be incorporated into everyday routines and they don't require expensive materials: Talking, Singing, Reading, Writing, and Playing. Also, visit your local library regularly to be sure you have a constant source of fresh books to read.
