A transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator (TENS) sends electrical pulses through the skin. These pulses can help relieve pain and release endorphins .
ALthough TENS is most famous for muscular and skeletal pain, this video describes the possible use on the abdomen, where TENS may help with digestion and calming the vagus nerve.
Do not use a TENS unit if you are in the bath or shower, or if you have anything implanted (pacemaker, spinal stimulator, etc.). No not use on the head or neck.
Always start at the lowest possible setting and slowly work your way up. Apply the pads to clean dry skin. Consult with your health provider- this video is for information and not medical advice.
