So this week I saw a trend going around where you can use some of the wooden Dollar Tree signs and ornaments to create custom T-shirts. I was skeptical at first... I wasn't sure it was going to be as easy as it was being portrayed online... so I figured why not give it a try. I had recently purchased a few T-shirts from Dollar Tree and I had a good variety of the wood DIY signs and ornaments also.. I just needed the bleach and Peroxide.

The first shirt I did was a complete disaster. It was a gorgeous teal blue shirt and I thought how cute would this little truck be on the blue shirt... it at first lifted to a really pretty light green... but then I removed the stencils and discovered that I had used WAY to MUCH bleach... way too much!!! it was a solid mass of bleach. You couldn't see a single design or stencil lol.. BUT I'm so glad that I had that mistake happen, because I am able to pass on what I learned to y'all hoping you won't have the same thing happen to you.

This idea of course is all over Tic Toc so I have no idea who to give credit to because there are literally hundreds of videos. The Water/Paint T shirt that I do in the video, I decided to try because a lot of the videos using the bleach they are mixing up the paint and spraying down the bleached parts of the shirt to give it a whole new color which is really cool... So I figured if it would work on the bleached parts of a shirt, why not try it all by itself on a light colored shirt... and it worked! If you own a cutting machine like a Cricut you could cut out endless stencils to use in your T-shirt designs.

I had so much fun making these that I actually bought a few more of the wood signs yesterday, that way my kids and I can make more shirts this weekend lol. I hope y'all have as much fun making these as we did!
