Mike and Yvonne from Between the Lakes visit Playa de los Locos beach in Torrevieja to check out its history. It was formerly known as Playa del Salaret until a Psychiatric building was built on the beach in the early 20th century. The building which is a landmark in Torrevieja was called Sanitorio del Carmen also known as "The Asylum" the beach was then renamed Playa de Los Locos, translated to "Beach of the Crazy Ones".
Torrevieja is in the Alicante region of Valencia in Spain.
