The vote-counting process for the recent Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana assembly elections is scheduled for October 8. According to official reports, counting will commence at 8 a.m., with election officials and party representatives expected to be present at counting centres by 5 a.m. Poll officials are slated to receive briefings and be stationed at their respective counting tables by 6 a.m.
The counting will start with postal ballots, which are designated for specific groups such as persons with disabilities, security personnel, and essential service government employees. Subsequently, votes cast using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be tallied.
