Balachander (8 December 1953 – 3 May 2023) known by his stage name as Manobala was an Indian actor, producer, film director, comedian and YouTuber[4] who predominantly played supporting roles in Tamil-language films. He was one of the most popular comedians in the South Indian cinema industry.

Manobala started his career in Tamil cinema in the early 1970s and with Kamal Haasan's reference became an assistant director with Bharathiraja for his 1979 film Puthiya Vaarpugal.
