The Eastern Cape Socio-Economic Consultative Council (ECSECC) on Friday, 08 September 2023 hosted a webinar titled: “The Economic Impact of Funding Youth Businesses in the Eastern Cape: A case of National Youth Development Agency Grant Funding.”
The webinar was presented by Dr Asanda Fotoyi, a lecturer and academic coordinator in the Nelson Mandela University’s Department of Economics. Dr Fotoyi’s PhD (Economics) thesis assessed the economic impact of the NYDA grant funding in the Eastern Cape, using cost-benefit analysis (CBA) and least absolute deviation (LAD) regression analysis.
The webinar was facilitated by ECSECC’s Development Economist Funzani Mtembu.
NYDA's Centre Coordinator in the Eastern Cape Mandisa Ngwenze served as a first respondent at the webinar. The second respondent was National Chairperson of the Black Management Forum’s Young Professionals Papama Mnqandi.
