Mortirolo is known as one of the most difficult climbs in Europe. It is revered and feared by many cyclists. However, many do not know that there is an easier approach to this famous pass. From Monno it is possible to climb to Mortirolo without the extreme hardships that have made this pass so famous. We call this approach ‘The Good’ because it is less brutal than the notorious climb from Mazzo (The Ugly). Despite being easier it is not an easy climb. It has short segments of gradients of 15 percent or more. This route has been used several times by Giro d’Italia.

Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is outstanding. But when it comes to music, opinions are very mixed. This is why we have added no music and why we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute YouTube and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, YouTube, etc…) and pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride... The original sound of the ride has been left out. This is because the natural sound of the surroundings is drowned by noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing.
