A 12-minute summary of the accomplishments of the Michigan Wheat Program, as we kick off its 10th anniversary year. The MWP is Michigan's first-ever wheat check-off program.
Established by a vote of Michigan wheat growers in Summer 2011, the Michigan Wheat Program is primarily focused on research. Since funding its first research projects in 2012, the MWP has invested over $3 million of grower funds into 128 wheat research projects. Key goals are increasing yield and improving grain quality.
This investment has also yielded many educational opportunities for wheat growers including Summer Field Days and Winter Grower Meetings. Browse the Michigan Wheat YouTube channel for the dozens of videos that provide hours of hours of e-learning!
