Poland and Russia. The two have a... contentious relationship, to say the least. So when there was a loophole in a treaty, some Polish fishermen traveled over twelve thousand miles (about twenty thousand kilometers) just to annoy the Russians (and, well, fish, obviously). Learn more about it in this video!

Notes
• Note [1] — You can see the poll (the BBC World Service Poll) here: [ Ссылка ]
• Note [2] — Regarding the map showing the zones, definitely not to scale.
• Note [3] — The rules that would be too stringent to cover (unfortunately, I can't post them here due to the 5,000 character limit) can be read at section 3, subsection A at [ Ссылка ]
• Note [4] — There are still many places in which continental shelves are disputed. As ice is melting in the Arctic Ocean, countries are racing to claim the seabed there, since it's an oil-rich area.
• Note [5] — Actually, they didn't travel the way this video shows. I just put it this way because the other way doesn't really show well on a map. In reality, they passed through canals, and such. They traveled the way shown on the thumbnail.

Music
1) Fantaisie-Impromptu, by Chopin. Incidentally, he's from Poland, and wrote a song (the Revolutionary Étude) about a conflict between Russia and Poland. From the Al Goldstein collection in the repository at ibiblio.org.
