While we don’t come bearing a Biomutant release date, we hope we can ease the wait for the kung-fu-filled, open-world RPG with this Biomutant gameplay deep dive with creative director Stefan Ljungqvist. Basically, it's Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but with a few more furry animals doing martial arts.

Experiment 101 co-founder, and Biomutant creative director, Stefan Ljungqvist went in deep on Biomutant with Colm. He discussed the game's large open-world and the goodies the developer's filled it with; he chatted about the narrative, and the important part your mother plays in it; and he spoke a little bit about his time working on Mad Max and Just Cause, and how that experience helped him with Biomutant. And, yes, he mentioned Zelda: Breath of the Wild quite a bit, which should excite all those PC players that didn't get to play the Nintendo Switch classic.

The new Biomutant gameplay in the video wasn't captured by us, just in case you think we've had a sneaky play. We were sent around 10 minutes of footage. But, as you've probably noticed, this video is quite a bit longer than 10 minutes. That means the Biomutant gameplay you see will repeat a bit, but hopefully you'll be okay with that. I mean, it really is quite pretty.

Just in case: this isn't a Biomutant review. We'd love it if it was. That would mean we'd be after playing through the whole, game. Sadly, we'll all have to wait a little longer before we get our hands on Biomutant. Still, it does sound like Experiment 101 will be revealing the Biomutant release date soon. Fingers crossed we'll be planting mushrooms and blowing bubbles later this year.
