China's President Xi Jinping and India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi were among the world leaders joining Vladimir Putin in Kazan this week for the 2024 BRICS summit. This marks the first such gathering since the group expanded to include new members: Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates. Based on this week's discussions, BRICS seems poised to grow even further, with countries from across the Global South eager to join.
But what does this all mean for the global balance of power?
