Back to Europe as the World Cup winds up in Italy, and for what looks like the last race at Paul Ricard, at least for the time being, with a new circuit planned for use in the French Grand Prix from 1991 onwards. Alain Prost will be hoping the momentum from his Mexican win carries on. Home soil has been a happy hunting ground for Prost - he took his maiden win at Dijon in 1981, and won at Paul Ricard in 1983, 87, 88 and 89, and when he didn't win he was usually on the podium. But there are plenty of people wanting to crash the party: Williams with their French Renault engines, Senna wanting to defend his championship lead, Berger still waiting to open his McLaren account, Mansell likewise his for Ferrari, and the Benettons are always loitering just behind waiting for one of the big six to slip up...
