Video transcript: Hi I’m Katie Linendoll and welcome into my kitchen, now I’ll be the first person to tell you that I can’t cook and that I definitely can not bake. However, I love technology and gadgets and always on the hunt for new products that help me do so.
Today I’m going to be featuring one of my favorite app-ssecories, it is called the Perfect Bake. As you can see here these are some of my favorite treats made with the Perfect Bake. Now what is awesome about it is whether you are a novice or a pro in the kitchen or you just like working with kids and helping them learn how to cook too it makes the perfect treat every single time. Check it out.
This is the ultimate device to help you step by step to make the perfect desert, what it comes with is three measuring bowls, it also comes with a smart scale and as you can see here I’ve got the smart scale hooked right up to my iPad. Now my favorite part of this entire package is the app, the free app actually comes for Android or iOS and what is really neat about it is it has hundreds of different recipes so whether your trying to cook something that is gluten free, kid friendly, cakes, cookies, crusts, cupcakes and muffins, no bakes which is one of my favorites or even a vegan desert the app has you covered.
I have to tell you there are so many new favorites that I have that I’ve made perfectly with the app. So let’s dive right into it. I’m a huge fan of oatmeal for example so I went ahead and keyed in oatmeal in the search and I found here an oatmeal cookie dough bites that is actually a no bake option. And that is going to be fun because I don’t have to put anything in the oven and I’m short on time. So I go ahead and fire up that recipe and hit in one step the bake button.
No from hitting bake, all I have to do is a few things, right now the default is it’s going to make me 28 oatmeal cookie dough bites, so now for someone who is eating by themselves, oh sad me, I don’t really need 28 bites. So I’m going to go ahead and move it down to let say maybe 10. We’ll do the lowest number possible. So step by step it’s going to tell you how to prepare the entire desert, let’s start with room temperature. First thing it says is let’s get some almond butter, its going to tell you what color of mixing bowl you will need.
Dry mix the green bowl, here we have the green bowl, instant oats, coma meal, ground cinnamon and salt, I’m going to put that all in the bowl and put that right on the measuring scale. Now again, the awesome part about Perfect Bake is it measures it right down to the pinch, so it’s going to tell me when I’ve added too little or much and give me that little beep confirmation right on the iPad.
Let’s do this. First things first, 34 grams of instant oats which is about a half of cup. Close to the top…and action. Okay, great moving along 21.5 grams of almond meal. I’ve got that, so I’m going to go ahead and add that. That is…slowly but surely going to the top and we’re good. Now next up, 1.05 grams of ground cinnamon and this is actually a very small item so I have to be really careful with when I’m adding this.
So let’s go ahead and grab that, now when you’re working with tiny little ones you have to be really careful about how much you’re putting in.
So we have the first bowl mixed, now we are moving on and as you can see here the color coding has changed so that means you switch up the bowl. Alright, what’s up next is adding some almond butter, 62.5 grams I have no idea what that’s equivalent to but I don’t need to worry about that because the scale is going to do all the work for me.
So I’m going to go ahead and start loading up the almond butter. Oh, as you can see quickly that was a “we’re good.”
Alright, 2.5 grams of vanilla extract, I’m ready for it. Now that I do know is a tiny little amount so we’re going to be careful here. Awesome.
Next up looks to be a generous portion of honey and this is also very fun to work with kids. Kids who are learning how to cook or just learning how much things weigh. It’s very fun to be able to be in the kitchen and teaching them how to do this and also how cool is it the fact that they are actually working off of their iPad. Don’t have to convince them of that.
Alright, next is to mix. What’s really neat about the Perfect Bake is that it actually has a timer on there. It’s very important the precision in baking so when you do things like mixing you don’t want to over mix or under mix, it will actually count that out for you. Nice little feature...
