Recognising the vital link between environmental conservation and human well-being, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) launched the Health, Ecosystems and Agriculture for Resilient, Thriving Societies (HEARTH) effort. HEARTH fosters cross-sector, market-driven partnerships that promote biodiversity conservation and support sustainable development for local populations.
In this webinar, co-hosted by Innovation Forum and USAID, we explored how companies can create value by aligning their business models with the well-being of partner communities.
Hosted in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the webinar took place on October 16th at 2 – 3pm CET / 8 – 9am EST.
We explored three of USAID HEARTH’s public-private partnerships to gain valuable insights into the on-the-ground impacts taking place through: Nosy Manga, Madagascar and LASCARCOCO, Indonesia.
The conversation began with opening remarks from Dina Esposito, the assistant to the administrator for USAID’s Bureau for resilience, environment, and food security. We then heard from our panel of experts, Imam Suharto, head of cocoa sustainability Indonesia, PT. Olam,
Jean Luc Ramahavelo, monitoring and evaluation officer, Ocean Farmers and Elizabeth Daut, natural resources specialist from USAID.
