So I recently bought the Phantom 4 and flew a couple of times with it, but I am looking for the real FPV experience, so I bought the Fatshark Dominator V2.
This is my first flight with it, with some comments added on screen.
My experience:
* gee, the video quality is really bad compared with the 720p HD of the tablet!
* nevertheless you are more deeply emerged into flying FPV with it and have a larger sense of distances and surroundings
* it means I dare more, like flying through gaps between trees, then I would do with the tablet.
* but the Phantom 4 Collision Avoidance won't let me!! lol
* the range the Phantom lets me fly with obstructing trees and such is disappointing. After 450 meters the video gets lagging or lost. The whole idea of FPV for me is that you don't need to have LOS anymore and 'can go anywhere', but if this has to be within 400 meters, that is not much.
So probably I will be looking for range extenders now...
