On December 1st, 2011 a coalition of activists organizing the UNT Beyond Coal campaign gave UNT President Rawlins an early Christmas gift, a stocking full of coal. UNT, despite all of its green rhetoric, still consumes 47% electricity produced by burning coal. This is unacceptable for a university that claims "We Mean Green." Being sustainable isn't a brand image, it's a commitment to the health of our planet and the living things that we share it with. It is the goal of the UNT Beyond Coal campaign to make UNT consume 100% wind energy in order to make us worthy of the phrase "We Mean Green."
