It's a race against time for residents of the Joe Slovo informal settlement in Langa to rebuild after a devastating fire left more than 600 people displaced. With sweltering weather in Cape Town, many fire victims have resorted to using fire debris to rebuild just to have shelter over their heads.
The Minister of Human Settlements, Thembi Simelani, who yesterday visited another fire-hit informal settlement at Du Noon says all role players are working to expedite the provision of building materials to fire victims. SABC News Reporter, Vanessa Poonah has more.
