If have never heard an ESS AMT speaker, you are missing out big time. ESS uses an ultra unique design for their tweeters. The tweeters are called an Air Motion Transformer diaphragm. ESS designed the AMT 3 tower with 2 10 inch subwoofers and a 6 inch midrange. The amazing precision of the AMT paired with the extreme lows achieved by the dual subwoofers create a perfect sound that seems impossible.

The Heil Air Motion Transformer (AMT) diaphragm is low mass and high output allowing for a uniquely high combination of efficiency and bandwidth. Enabling it to efficiently reproduce frequencies over a wide range, between 40 and 24K Hz. The AMT is a dipolar transducer, which gives it sound of a live musical instrument equally generating as much sound from the front as to the rear. This creates a more natural musical ambience. The diaphragm’s shape delivers wide dispersion horizontally while tightly controlling the vertical sound which creates a wide soundstage and minimizes unwanted floor and ceiling reflections.
The Heil diaphragm is made of soft, quiet mylar to reduce background noise and is bonded with conductive aluminum strips. The low mass diaphragm is suspended in a massive magnet structure concentrating an intense magnetic field around the diaphragm.
The ESS Heil Air Motion Transformer (AMT) is the most significant loudspeaker breakthrough of the last half-century and is licensed exclusively to ESS. Once you’ve heard it, you’ll agree that the ESS Heil AMT indeed delivers “SOUND AS CLEAR AS LIGHT.”

The AMTs carry the midrange and treble frequencies. Fused with recently replaced six-inch drivers that reproduce the lower midrange and upper bass, as well as four fresh ten-inch woofers. The crossover is original and the caps recently tested. SpenCertified!
These speakers have a 3-way Brilliance/presence selector switch with Soft, Normal and Bright settings.
Aesthetically, the oiled walnut veneer cabinet is in good condition. The speaker grill has been replaced with black cloth as seen in the pictures.
These unique speakers can be demoed in our listening room.
