The Siege of Toulon of 1793 happened during the French Revolution that began in 1789. It was a battle of French Republican forces against French Royalists that were allied with other countries including Great Britain.
During the siege, various French soldiers, including a young Napoleon Bonaparte documented their accounts through letters and other means that survived to this day.
In this video, you will be able to experience the battle through the eyes of people who were there.
