Venice decided to charge 5 euros for day visitors this summer in the hopes it would help with their overcrowding/overtourism issues. Want to take a guess how it went? Basic idea is good, but they got the price wrong. I would have suggested an amount high enough (maybe $150 - $300, plus discounts for those who qualify and many free tickets by lottery) that it would have shocked visitors to change their behavior. More on this in a future video.
