Description: Growing up in a house where everybody had creative hobbies, John has always enjoyed making things with his hands. A part time knifemaker and retired architect, John Arnold finds both joy and satisfaction in designing and constructing well balanced, well proportioned and beautiful knives. The Knifemakers Guild of South Africa recognized John's skill and accepted him as a member in September 2006.
The new Rhino model from John is a perfect mid-size daily carry folder. It's extremely comfortable in hand, yet lightweight and easy to carry in the pocket. John designed this strong, reliable folder for everyday carry, yet it could easily be a cherished knife in any collection.
The blade was made from stainless damascus forged by Chad Nichols in the USA. The grinds reveal the dramatic damascus pattern, while the flats are mirror polished. It is wickedly sharp. The action is silky smooth, thanks to the IKBS ball bearing pivot and the blade is perfectly centered. The IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create smooth action with no blade play.
Handle scales are formed from marbled carbon fiber that has been nicely domed and polished. The scales meet perfectly with matching stainless damascus bolsters. Titanium liners are anodized blue and surround a matching stainless damascus back spacer. The blue anodized titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-handed, tip-up carry.
