In March, London based New Africa Magazine, named former South African cabinet member and African Development Bank Special Envoy on Gender, Geraldine Fraser Moleketi the "2016 New African Woman of the Year. She accepted in absentia, saying she was dedicating the award to her family and to young women and young men carving out their African future excelling in maths science and technology and working to escape poverty. Ms Frazer-Moleketi joined AfDB in 2013 having formerly been director of the UNDP Democratic Governance Programme and a board member of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, nominated by the UN Secretary-General. She joins us in studio.
