The Ann Arbor Staging looks at the position of involved Lymph nodes on the SUPERIOR and INFERIOR positions regarding the diaphragm, not the left or right hemidiaphragm. In other words, Stage II would have 2+ LN’s above OR below the diaphragm, but can only be on one of those sides. Stage III would have 2+ LN’s both above AND below the diaphragm.
Of note, the Ann Arbor staging has fallen out of favor for NHL and was recently replaced with the Lugano classification.

In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be presenting on Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (also known as NHL, or sometimes just lymphoma) is a cancer that starts in white blood cells called lymphocytes, which are part of the body’s immune system.
NHL is a term that's used for many different types of lymphoma that all share some of the same characteristics. There is another main type of lymphoma, called Hodgkin lymphoma, which has been discussed in our Hodgkin's Lymphoma lecture: [ Ссылка ]
NHL usually starts in lymph nodes or other lymph tissue, but it can sometimes affect the skin. We hope you enjoy this lecture and be sure to support us below!
