The Uganda Peoples' Front for Freedom leader, Rt. Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye, has been charged and remanded to Luzira prison on charges relating to security and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition by the General Court Martial.
Besigye is charged together with one Hajji Obeid Lutale, with whom he was arrested in Nairobi, Kenya, last week.
