The California Highway Patrol received a call of a vehicle fire in the #4 lane of the SR-54/SR-125 just East of Briarwood Road in Bonita.
Firefighters from San Diego Fire-Rescue and Bonita-Sunnyside Fire Protection District were first to arrive on the scene and found a older model Toyota 4Runner that was fully engulfed in flames.
The driver was reported to have left in an unknown direction. Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire. There were no other occupants in the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
