The nomadic lifestyle, despite its beauty and simplicity, comes with numerous challenges. One of the biggest issues faced by nomads is the lack of fossil fuels and limited access to energy resources. Nomads often live in remote and mountainous areas, where, due to the difficult terrain and lack of infrastructure, they are deprived of amenities such as gas and oil. Consequently, to provide heat and cooking fuel during the cold seasons, they are compelled to rely on natural resources like firewood. This method not only requires a great deal of effort but also consumes a lot of time and energy from the family members. With the arrival of the cold season, nomadic families prepare themselves to face the upcoming challenges. Collecting firewood becomes one of the most essential tasks they need to complete each year at this time. Fariba and Akram know well that without enough firewood, enduring the cold days of autumn and winter will be extremely difficult. They decide to go to the mountains before the cold fully sets in, to gather as much wood as possible. Early in the morning, dressed warmly and carrying large sacks, they head towards the mountain, looking for dry branches and wooden pieces that could serve as fuel for the long, cold nights ahead. Gathering firewood in the mountains is by no means an easy task. It requires enduring natural hardships like the cold, strong winds, and even environmental dangers. Yet, with the perseverance and determination that they have learned from living in nature, Fariba and Akram carry out the task without any complaints. They carefully collect every dry branch they find and bundle them into large stacks. They know they need to secure enough wood for the entire family, as this is their only means of combating the winter chill that is approaching fast. After hours of hard work, as the sun slowly sets behind the mountains, they return home with sacks full of wood and dry branches. Although fatigue is visible on their faces, the satisfaction of providing the family with the needed fuel makes their expressions brighter than ever. Now that the firewood has been gathered, the family can welcome winter with more peace of mind, and Fariba and Akram know that their efforts will bring warmth and comfort to everyone.
