St. Ingbert is on the western foothills of the Palatinate Forest . The largest part of the urban area is characterized by near-natural beech forest (slightly more than half of the area, see diagram) and gentle hills. The core of the city and the districts of Rohrbach and Rentrisch are traversed by the Rohrbach , which drains into the Saar . The streams that flow through the districts of Reichenbrunn, Oberwürzbach and Hassel drain into the Blies .
