FIRST Robotics Team #2604 Metal and Soul hails from Capac, Michigan. Here is our 2023 Impact Award video. Our theme this year is "Our Legacy." This is a showcase of the many activities and Outreach programs we run and participate in. We were Awarded the Impact Award at the FIRST in Michigan Macomb District Competition where we were also part of the winning Alliance.We will be competing at the MI State Championship 4/6-4/8 in hopes of earning a bid to the World Championships in Houston TX 4/19-4/22.
Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. We call FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.”
Under strict rules, limited time and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship.
The FIRST Impact Award (formerly Chairman’s Award) is the most prestigious award at FIRST, it honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the mission of FIRST. It was created to keep the central focus of FIRST Robotics Competition on the ultimate goal of transforming the culture in ways that will inspire greater levels of respect and honor for science and technology, as well as encouraging more of today’s youth to become science and technology leaders.
