Just want to share an extremely rare piece of music that our family love so much. We came across this piece of music when we first heard it on a violin. How many times will you be able to hear a Wagner piece on strings? Wagner's Romanze WWV. 94 was originally written for piano. It was transcribed for violin and piano by August Wilhelmj around 1873. This violin version is popular in the competition circuit and was even played by many masters e.g. Ysaye. We chanced upon an arrangement for cello and piano arranged by none other than David Popper, also circa 19th century. This arrangement is extremely rare, and barely any videos or recordings, but we think that this is so much more romantic and beautiful. Here is DY and Wendy playing this rare piece of music.
