In this episode, neuroscientist Dr. Lindsay Hohsfield will answer questions about Alzheimer's disease and important immune cells in the brain called 'microglia.'
About the Speaker:
Lindsay Hohsfield, PhD, is an Assistant Project Scientist in the lab of Kim Green, PhD. She earned her PhD from the Medical University of Innsbruck in Austria and has received several prestigious awards from the National Institutes of Health, Fulbright, and the Alzheimer's Association. Her research focuses on understanding how beta amyloid accumulates in the Alzheimer's disease brain, and how we might use our own immune system to clear it. In addition to her work in the field of neuroscience, Dr. Hohsfield founded Youngtimers, a nonprofit organization that seeks to promote community, education, support, and research for individuals and families affected by early-onset familial Alzheimer's disease.
