Rough transcription: "If someone has renewed modern magic in the 1900's it must surely be Dai Vernon, most magicians hold him in very high regard. The trick he does here is called The Cone and Ball. He had very nimble fingers and early got the nickname The Professor which he kept for the rest of his life. He was active and worked all the way up to his death at 90 [sic] years of age, just a few years ago."
