This is a video about how I went about building my fire pit out of a dryer drum for super cheap!

I recommend using a dryer drum, NOT a washer drum as these can be dangerous due to the “balance ring” some of them have. These balance rings used to be filled with shot, bbs or something explosive (sometimes a liquid). IF a washer drum is all you can get, please look into this issue with the manufacturer or an expert.

Keep an eye on your local "for sale" websites, markets, appliance stores, etc. and you may be able to build something similar for cheap as well.

Please do your research before building this and/or lighting a fire in your fire pit. Check your local laws and HOA (if applicable) and be sure to look up the safety sheet/materials of the brand/type of drum you use.
