I've had this rifle for goodness knows how long now and I have had quite a great time with it. It occurred to me I never did a video on it other than shooting it! So here we are.

In a world of 308 semi auto rifles, there isn't much to choose from. Typically, you'll have your (insert brand name) AR10s, FALs, M1A/M14s, and the venerable G3/HK91 platform.

PTR has done an excellent job creating these both from surplus and new parts in my opinion. I have absolutely loved pretty much every minute of this rifle from accuracy, to reliability, to cool factor, to just being a practical fighting weapon. There are downsides of course but given the price I got this rifle for and what is available quality wise, you can definitely do worse. Practically speaking nothing will overcome an AR10 in terms of sheer combat capability, but because I have practiced extensively with this rifle I feel I can still use it in a combat situation and feel confident in my ability to engage whatever threat comes my way. The fact that this rifle is still even discussed alongside the FAL, AR10 and M14 in terms of capability speaks to its ruggedness and track record.

If you ask me, out of the 4, I would take the AR10 platforms but that is hardly fair considering the real "modern" AR10s we see today are of course modern. To make it a more relevant discussion, out of the FAL, M14, and G3, I would pick the G3 all day over the others.
