Tabatskuri is located in South Georgia, just 50 kilometres form skiresort Bakuriani. Tabatskuri lake is surrounded by the volcanic mountains and lies at the altitude of 2.000 meters above sea level.
The surface area of Tabatskuri lake is 14.2 square kilometres and maximal depth is 40.2 meters.
Tabatskuri is rich in fish, including trout, Common barbel, and Eurasian carp, but from December until March Lake is frozen over.
